OnMoveID Project

The OnMoveID project aims to enable faster, more secure, and privacy‑preserving border crossings by verifying travellers’ digital identity and biometrics while they are moving, using smartphones and limited external sensors.

Since the kick‑off meeting in Ljubljana, Slovenia (September 2025), the work packages have been set up and are progressing as planned. The consortium is now finalizing the specification phase, and all partners have clear visibility on their roles, deliverables, and timelines.

On 26–27 February, the consortium held a constructive workshop in Finland with border guard stakeholders from Finland, Slovakia, and the UK (all consortium partners) to better understand expectations and operational constraints, particularly regarding priority use cases and security requirements.

In parallel, Mr. Alar Urke (CAFA Tech, Estonia) presented OnMoveID to the EU border community at the first “Borderless Border Management” conference.

The project website is now live. All consortium members are invited to share and report their OnMoveID‑related activities so the website reflects the project’s momentum and ambition.
